After living and working with these breeds of dogs for many years now, I have spent a lot of time learning from many people through Working, Clinics, Books, Trialing and through being lucky enough to form a close friendship with several experienced Stockman and dog enthusiasts. Coupled with my want and ability to impart this knowledge to as many people as I can for the benefit of dogs and stock animals, I have created my dvd’s and my hands on training classes. I can help you with living with these dogs for the first part and then to developing a long lasting rewarding, relationship with a great working companion.
Over the year’s of attending clinic’s with some of the very best stock dog trainers and then working with people on a start up level for quite a period of time now, I have come up with the this series of classes which suit the people who want to grow and expand their knowledge of working with stock dogs.
A full weekend of very intensive training on the start to the finish of dog training – with more time watching people working their dogs than actually working your own dog is interesting. And if you have stock to work you can quite often take a lot of knowledge home and go on with it, but for the average new person into the game is quite often very overwhelming. At the end of the weekend you quite often come out a little confused as to what to do.
This is why I run very small classes with basics covered at each stage. What you do get is plenty of time and very basic steps to develop a dog to there full potential. The growth and education of a dog takes time from the growing to the training and then building up the experience can take years. Let’s face it it’s a investment. Like all good investments you might as well get of on the right foot and understand the basics right from the start.
Most people that come to me for help with started dogs, that would like to go to the next level, find that it’s in the basics that they have missed things. The whole picture grows from getting the basics right.
